Gyrosphere
The Yokogawa CMZ-700 manual is excellent for operations but deliberately vague on repair . The reason is the : a sealed, helium-filled beryllium-copper sphere spinning at 20,000 RPM. I can’t provide the full user manual text
Latitude & Speed Error Correction:
The CMZ-700 requires manual input of the ship's speed and latitude to correct for "Steaming Error" (the apparent movement of the gyro due to Earth's rotation and the ship's motion). The manual explains how to input this data. Note: Newer CMZ-700B models can accept this data automatically via NMEA from the GPS/Log, removing the need for manual entry. Step: 360 pulses/rev, 0–5V TTL, 10mA max
- Step: 360 pulses/rev, 0–5V TTL, 10mA max.
- Synchro: 11.8V 400Hz, 1:1 ratio.
Features automatic speed-error correction based on GPS latitude and ship speed signals. External Sensor Backup:
