  2. Create a new Operating System – Select "Windows Imaging Format (WIM) file."
  3. Point to your WIM.
  4. Critical: In the Task Sequence, remove any "Inject Drivers" steps that rely on DISM (XP doesn't support modern DISM). Use legacy "Out-of-Box Drivers" or run a command line to devcon.exe.

2. imagex.exe (The Golden Tool)

The note was short, written by someone who’d probably never used version control but knew how to anchor a system to the future. It read: “If you restore this, update RemNote to use TLS1.2. The cert expires 2020. — R.” Beneath the line, a tiny ASCII map traced how the RemNoteClient polled a list of internal services — service names that no longer resolved in DNS, IPs that belonged to now-decommissioned subnets.
