Nala traveled to Lagos for the casting, where she met other talented cooks from different parts of Africa. There was Kofi, a Ghanaian chef who specialized in innovative twists on traditional Ghanaian dishes; Fatima, a Moroccan cook who was known for her exquisite pastries; and Jengo, a Kenyan chef who was passionate about using local ingredients to create modern African cuisine.
