In a standard rock kit, hitting a pad softer makes it quieter. In Vedh, hitting softer changes the instrument . At low velocity (1-40), you hear the Dholki (a smaller, quieter version of the Dhol). At mid velocity (41-90), you get the standard Dhol. At high velocity (91-127), you trigger the Chop —a distorted, clipped version of the drum designed for drop impacts.
