Unlock Bootloader Using Termux
The plastic casing of the old Android phone was warm against Leo’s palm. It was a relic from three years ago, abandoned when its manufacturer decided it was “obsolete.” No more security updates. No more freedom.
Caveat:
Does not work on locked bootloaders from Samsung, Xiaomi (newer), or Pixel. unlock bootloader using termux
- An Android device with a compatible processor (e.g., ARM, x86)
- Termux installed on your device
- A computer with a USB cable
- A compatible unlock code or key (for some devices)
- Device compatibility – Phones from Google Pixel, OnePlus, Xiaomi (with permission), and some Motorola devices are more likely to work.
- Termux installed – Get it from F-Droid (recommended) or GitHub. Avoid the Play Store version (it’s outdated).
- USB debugging enabled – Go to Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking.
- Device already unlocked (OEM unlock toggle) – This is a separate setting in Developer Options.
- Backup all data – Unlocking wipes everything.
- Sufficient battery – At least 70% charge.
- Another device or PC as backup – In case Termux fails, you may need ADB access.
