The game was built from the ground up for Wii MotionPlus. Porting it to standard controllers would require re-engineering the entire combat system. SEGA would essentially have to remake the game, as the "waggle" is not a gimmick but the core mechanic (Soul Surge, parrying, and charged attacks all rely on accelerometer angles).
