Mastering the Selmar Turbo 4 Battery Charger: Complete Instructions & Guide
- Desulfation (Pulse Mode): If a battery is deeply discharged (below 10V), the charger sends voltage pulses to break down lead sulfate crystals. This can take 15 minutes to 2 hours.
- Bulk Charge (Constant Current): The charger delivers maximum current (e.g., 4A, 8A, or 15A per bank depending on model). Voltage rises steadily.
- Absorption (Constant Voltage): Voltage is held steady while current drops. This tops off the battery without overcharging.
- Float Maintenance: Voltage drops to 13.2V-13.4V. You can leave the charger connected indefinitely without harming the battery.
- Positive (+) clamp → Connect to the positive terminal of the battery.
- Negative (-) clamp → Connect to the negative terminal.
- For negative ground vehicles (most cars): Connect the negative clamp to a solid engine block or chassis away from the battery to reduce spark risk near the battery.
