Qfl Qualcomm — Flash Loader V1.0 [hot]
Qualcomm Flash Image Loader (QFIL) , often referred to by versioning like

- For most Xiaomi/OnePlus/LG devices: Power off completely. Hold Volume Up + Volume Down simultaneously, then plug USB into PC. The screen stays black, and PC makes a "USB connect" sound.
- Alternatively, use a test point: Short two specific contacts on the motherboard (advanced users only).
Supported targets & protocols
- Warranty void: Using QFIL to flash custom or unsigned firmware violates manufacturer warranties.
- Anti-rollback (ARB): Many modern Qualcomm chips have fuses that blow when you downgrade firmware. If QFIL flashes an older bootloader, the phone may permanently reject it (engineer your firmware version carefully).
- Authentication (Sahara Auth): Starting around 2019, Qualcomm introduced the SHA256 RSA authentication in Firehose loaders. QFIL V1.0 cannot bypass this. For locked bootloader devices from OnePlus 8 series or newer, you must use authorized EDL software (or pay for a Firehose loader with valid signature).
- Data recovery: QFIL erases the entire userdata partition unless you manually edit the XML to exclude
userdata.img. Always backup first.
- Establish EDL/Qualcomm Sahara/Firehose session with a target SoC.
- Upload and execute a loader (download agent) on the device RAM.
- Read/write raw partitions (system, userdata, boot, recovery, modem).
- Erase or format partitions and write raw images.
- Query device info: chipset ID, serial number, storage geometry.
- Support for multiple storage types (eMMC, UFS, NAND) depending on loader.
