Prison Architect Padded Cells [Tested & Working]
Facility Memo: Padded Cell Wing – Design Blueprint
Many new players ask: "Why not just put the insane guy in Solitary?"
Bureaucracy
You cannot build padded cells immediately. You need to invest in . prison architect padded cells
Staffing & Monitoring:
Tip: Padded floor is essential – regular concrete or tiles will not fulfill the room requirement, and the prisoner will not receive the sanity restoration effect. Facility Memo: Padded Cell Wing – Design Blueprint
- Mixing Security Levels: Never put a Criminally Insane prisoner next to a Legendary prisoner. The Legendary one will taunt the insane one through the wall, causing mutual destruction.
- Forgetting the "Psych" Need: A Padded Cell without a Psychiatrist is just a soft, expensive torture chamber. The prisoner will never improve. You need the Psychiatric Consultation program running daily.
- Underestimating Walk Time: If your Psychiatrist’s office is on the other side of the map, the prisoner will arrive for therapy already enraged. Build the medical staff inside the Padded wing.
- Using Regular Guards: Always deploy Armed Guards (in "Freefire Off" mode) or Psychiatric Guards (if using the DLC) in the hallway. Regular guards freak out and use lethal force too quickly.
- Regime: Set a "Padded Only" regime of Lockdown for 22 hours a day.
- Eat/Yard: Give them 1 hour of "Yard" in a tiny, enclosed, padded yard with no heavy objects.
- Result: They never interact with normal prisoners. They never break your water pumps. They just exist in a soft, beige purgatory.
