Part 4: The "Dongle is Dead" – What Are Your Options?

Driver Update

: Open Device Manager , expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers , and find SafeNet Inc. HASP Key . If it has a warning symbol, right-click and select Update Driver .

• USB key not plugged in
• Driver not installed or corrupted
• Using a cracked version (we won’t support piracy, but if legit: check license type)
• USB port or key damaged
• Windows update broke the driver

USB Dongle

If you have a plugged into your PC, set the "Mode" to HASP and "Type" to Local . mastercam x5 no sim found

1. Check USB connection – Try different USB port, restart PC.
2. Reinstall HASP drivers – Located in Mastercam installation folder: ...\Mastercam X5\drivers\HASP\ or use haspdinst.exe -install (run as admin).
3. Check Device Manager – Look for Aladdin/SafeNet key under USB devices. Reinstall driver if needed.
4. Test on another PC – If key works elsewhere, your USB port or OS is the issue; if not, key is faulty.
5. For network license – Verify server address in nethasp.ini and network connectivity.
