The (2013) is a high-octane Indian action-crime film directed by Sanjay Gupta . Serving as a prequel to the 2007 hit Shootout at Lokhandwala , it dramatizes the real-life events surrounding the first-ever registered police encounter in Bombay’s history. • The Pathan Brothers (The Old Guard): Based on Karim Lala and his gang, they represent the traditional, "gentleman" dons who operate with a code of honor and Peshawari roots.
• Dawood Ibrahim (The New Guard): Played by Sonu Sood, this character (named Dilawar Imtiaz Haskar in the film due to censorship) represents the new, ruthless, corporate style of crime. The film captures the historic friction between the Pathans and Dawood’s rising empire.
• ACP Ishaque Bagwan (The Law): Played by Anil Kapoor, he represents the exhausted but determined police force. Interestingly, Anil Kapoor played a gangster in the original Shootout at Lokhandwala; here, he flips the switch to play the cop hunting the predecessor.
