1. Download the App

• Encryption: All video streams are encrypted using TLS 1.2 protocol. Imou states they do not monitor your live video unless you explicitly send a log file via customer support.
• Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): You can enable 2FA within the app’s Account Security settings. This requires a verification code from Google Authenticator or SMS before logging in on a new device.
• Local mode: If you are paranoid about cloud access, you can block the camera’s internet access via your router but still view it locally. However, this disables push notifications and remote viewing.

Open the app and sign up for a new account using your email address or phone number. Tip: Use a valid email as this is essential for password recovery and verification.

The software will ask for your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi password. Note: Imou cameras currently do not support 5GHz networks. Hold the camera’s reset button (usually pinhole) until you hear an audio prompt saying, "Waiting to connect." The app will generate a specific audio frequency signal; hold your phone’s speaker up to the camera’s microphone to complete pairing. imou camera software

• Cause: Corrupted file or unsupported SD card format.
• Fix: In the app, go to Camera Settings > Storage > Format SD Card. Use only Class 10 or UHS-I cards.
