How To Unlock Bootloader In Huawei Honor 8c Phone May 2026
Unlocking the bootloader on the Huawei Honor 8C is a bit of a "treasure hunt" because Huawei officially stopped providing unlock codes in 2018. However, it is still possible through alternative methods.
Unlocking the bootloader will trigger a mandatory factory reset, erasing all personal data. This process voids your official manufacturer warranty. How to Unlock Bootloader in HUAWEI Honor 8C phone
- Go to Settings > About Phone.
- Tap on Build Number 7 times until you see "You are now a developer!"
- Small screwdriver (to open phone)
- Tweezers or wire to short test points
- Windows 7/10 (XP recommended for drivers)
- PotatoNV software (from GitHub)
- Backup & Enable Developer Options (same as Method 1, Step 1).
- Power off your Honor 8C.
- Remove SIM tray and back cover (use a heat gun or iOpener – the Honor 8C has a plastic back glued on).
- Locate the test points (two small gold circles near the battery connector – search "Honor 8C test point diagram").
- Short the test points with tweezers while connecting the USB cable to PC.
- The PC will detect "Huawei USB COM 1.0" – install the drivers from PotatoNV folder.
- Run PotatoNV – it will read the bootloader code automatically.
- Use that code to unlock via
fastboot oem unlock CODE.
