Dracula, along with his famous monster friends (Frankenstein, Mummy, Werewolf, etc.), hosts a special 118th birthday party for his daughter, Mavis. Dracula is overprotective and hates humans, believing them to be dangerous. However, his "human-proof" resort is breached by a 21-year-old human backpacker named Jonathan "Johnny" Loughran. To prevent the guests from panic, Dracula disguises Johnny as a monster ("Johnnystein"), but things get complicated when Mavis and Johnny "zing" (fall in love).
