Step 4: Configure Screen Arrangement
- Did you plug in the separate USB touch cable? Power USB ≠ touch USB.
- On Linux, run
lsusb to see if "Goodix GT9XX" appears.
- Recalibrate in Windows Control Panel → Tablet PC Settings.
“Touch is not working.”
- Built-in dual speakers: Very tinny, low volume (~1W each).
- Headphone jack works but adds no amplification.
- Recommendation: Use external speakers or headphones.
“The screen flickers or turns off.”
- Viewing Angles: Many lower-cost units use TN panels. Colors shift and wash out when viewed from the side. If possible, find an IPS version (look for "IPS" or "all-angle viewing").
- Resolution Limitations: 1024x600 is lower than modern smartphones (1080p). Text can appear slightly pixelated if you’re used to Retina displays. It’s fine for terminal windows or basic UI, but not for photo editing.
- Build Quality: The plastic casing feels cheap. Some units are sold as "open frame" (just the LCD + driver board) for embedding into projects.
- Ghost Touch Issues: In rare cases, interference from poor USB cables can cause phantom touches. Use a shielded USB cable.
