First appearing on Tumblr in the mid-2010s, Evelina Darling began as a self-portrait project. At a time when the platform was dominated by grunge aesthetics and "soft grunge" edits, Darling’s work took a different turn. She leaned into high contrast, grainy textures, and vintage lens flares. Her early work was often shot on 35mm film or digital cameras with heavy post-processing to mimic the look of decaying Polaroids. evelina darling
