The bootloader was overwritten or the firmware file was corrupt. Fix: You will need to use an ISP programmer (like a USBASP) to reflash the bootloader. This is advanced: connect the programmer to the ICSP header on the Essgoo motherboard and use Arduino IDE to burn the bootloader again.
If your unit works fine, just for the sake of it. Many Essgoo units are cloned hardware, and a wrong update can permanently brick the device.
