Story:

Set in a fictionalized version of Japan's "Ero" period. It follows Arakusa, a young woman in ninja school who is called into service for the shogunate before her training is complete.

To be at the "top" of the front lines (the Clearers) requires a level of ruthlessness that nearly consumes the cast. However, Volume 1 concludes that the true "top" of human experience isn't reaching the 100th floor—it is the ability to maintain one's humanity and love within a machine.
