Altair PSIM Student Edition

To download the , you must register through the Altair Global Academic Program . The legacy standalone student version has been replaced by a comprehensive student bundle that includes PSIM. Steps to Download and Activate

  1. Disable Antivirus Temporarily (optional, but sometimes false flags appear).
  2. Run as Administrator – Right-click the .exe file and select "Run as Administrator."
  3. Accept the License Agreement – Read the academic use clause; you cannot use the student version for commercial projects.
  4. Choose Installation Path – The default C:\Program Files\Powersim\PSIM is fine.
  5. Select Components – Ensure "PSIM Main Program" and "Schematics" are checked.
  6. Complete Installation – Click "Install" and wait 2–5 minutes.
  7. Launch PSIM – Find the PSIM icon on your desktop.
