Curviloft Plugin Sketchup — !!exclusive!!
Master Organic Shapes: A Guide to the Curviloft Plugin for SketchUp
- Source: Available via the SketchUcation Plugin Store or the Extension Warehouse.
- Dependency: Curviloft requires LibFredo6 to function. This is a common library script used by many of Fredo6’s plugins. Users must install LibFredo6 first.
- License: It is currently Freeware, though users are encouraged to donate to the developer.
- Using the Arc and Line tools, draw 4 cross-sectional shapes (Station 0, Station 1, Station 2, Station 3 – distance apart: 2 meters, 4 meters, 6 meters).
- Important: All profiles must have the same number of segments if you want a clean mesh. For a boat, the bottom is a V-shape, the middle is a U-shape, and the top is a flat line.
- Select each profile individually and right-click > Make Group (or Curviloft will get confused).
The Digital Sculptor: Bridging the Gap Between Geometry and Art with Curviloft
- Key Feature: Allows for variable tension control between splines, enabling the user to tighten or loosen the curvature of the skin.
