- Switch to Z3D Layout (new workspace added automatically).
- Import your 2D file:
File → Import → Z3D Layered Image.
- In the Z3D Panel (N-panel in 3D viewport), adjust layer depths.
- Move camera – parallax updates live.
- Render or export.
- Link camera movement to layer depth for true parallax without manual keyframing.
- Optional depth-of-field mapping – out-of-focus layers automatically blur based on Z-depth.
- Download
blender_z3d_plugin.zip from Releases.
- In Blender:
Edit → Preferences → Add-ons → Install → Select zip → Enable "3D View: Z3D Plugin".
- Current limitations: no animation import/export beyond basic skeletal bind pose; shape keys and complex constraints are not supported.
- Roadmap: add skeletal animation export/import (keyframed transforms), advanced material support (multi-layer PBR), collision primitives, and faster multi-threaded IO.
