This is the exciting part of the "Online" search query. While the original Flash version did not have native online co-op, the community has found ways to play it remotely.
- How it works: If you own the game on Steam (the original Binding of Isaac collection, not Rebirth), Steam allows you to invite a friend to take control of player 2 locally.
- Limitation: The original Isaac does not have native local co-op (except for the "baby" follower system). Your friend would only control a familiar that follows you, not a full character.
- Best for: Sharing the experience, taking turns, or one person controlling while the other watches/advises.
- New Chapters: Added "The Cellar" (alternate Basement), "The Catacombs" (alternate Caves), and "The Chest" (final chapter).
- New Mechanics: Introduced Trinkets (passive buffs), new playable characters (Samson, ???/Blue Baby), and a massive influx of items (approximately 70+).
- Enemies and Bosses: Added new "Champion" enemy variants with different behaviors and colors, and new bosses such as The Adversary and The Mask of Infamy.
