Autodesk Recap 2020 Page

Autodesk ReCap 2020 is a "reality capture" software designed to bridge the gap between the physical and digital worlds. It allows users to convert raw data from 3D laser scans or photographs into 2D and 3D digital models, which can then be used in professional design environments like Core Functionality

Reality Capture

: You can create 3D models from laser scans (point clouds) or high-quality photographs (3D meshes). autodesk recap 2020

  1. Capture: Use a laser scanner (Lidar) or a drone/UAV to capture the physical environment.
  2. Import: Load the raw data into ReCap Pro 2020.
  3. Process: Clean up the noise, register the scans (stitch them together), and index the file.
  4. Export: Save as an .RCP (ReCap Project) file.
  5. Design: Link the .RCP file into Revit, Navisworks, or Civil 3D to use as a reference for your design.

Integration

: Exported .PTS or .RCP files are fully compatible with the broader Autodesk ecosystem, including Autodesk 3ds Max and AutoCAD 2020. Autodesk ReCap 2020 is a "reality capture" software
