Aspen HYSYS
To run modern versions of (such as V12 or V14) effectively, your system must meet specific hardware and software benchmarks. While the software can run on mid-range machines, high-fidelity process simulations generally require a powerful multi-core processor and significant memory to ensure fast convergence. Minimum Hardware Requirements
Supported Windows Versions
This machine will run a 500-stream dynamic gas plant simulation without crashing. Do not spend more on a GPU. Do not spend less on cooling. Aspen Hysys System Requirements
- Aspen HYSYS V11 (circa 2019): Lighter on RAM (requires ~4 GB less idle). Runs well on Windows 10 1809. No native support for high-DPI monitors.
- Aspen HYSYS V12 (circa 2021): Introduced the "HYSYS C++ Extensibility" framework, increasing baseline memory to ~2.5 GB at launch. Better multi-threading for Property Generation.
- Aspen HYSYS V14 (2024): Heaviest yet. Requires AVX2 instruction set (any CPU from 2014+ is fine). Uses more robust SQLite local database for case history. Idle RAM usage: 3.2 GB.
