There is currently no official, reliable "free" alternative to the Alternative A2DP Driver

  • Microsoft's Bluetooth Troubleshooter (Windows):
    • On laptops/desktops, disable selective suspend for Bluetooth adapters and prevent aggressive power-saving that may suspend the adapter or host controller.
    • Change USB port (direct motherboard vs hub) for dongles to avoid hub power problems.
