• No Installation Trash: Windows 11 is heavy. The last thing you want is another program installing services that run in the background. The Portable version runs as a standalone executable (.exe).
• USB Freedom: Because it is portable, you can keep it on a USB drive. If you manage multiple PCs or frequently reinstall Windows 11, you don't need to re-download the tool every time.
• Antivirus Evasion (Temporary): Windows Defender is aggressive on Windows 11. Portable tools can be added to the exclusion list temporarily and then removed, whereas installed software leaves deep registry keys that are harder to clean up.

Issue:

Conversion fails with “AAC frame sync error” on files from Windows 11’s Voice Recorder. Fix: The new Voice Recorder app saves .m4a with a fragmented MP4 header. In AACT Portable, go to Options → MP4Box mode → select -frag 100 . This rebuilds the header before conversion.
